Coaching Profile:
My background is in social work and management development. Since 2004, I have been working as a communication trainer & coach and consultant in private, public, and in the profit sectors. I draw on many approaches, however the main focus in my work is Nonviolent Communication (NVC). It’s my intention to support people and organizations to develop and integrate their potential to the fullest.
Professional Career:
I started of by training in social work, which led me to working for Camden Social Services in London for more that five years. Back in Germany, I acquired a certificate in social management. For two years after that I worked as the project manager of COUP 21 – a project on sustainability, which was overseen by the environmental agency of the city of Nuremberg. Since 2004 I have done freelance work; initially as a trainer and social work consultant and later also as a coach and consultant in the private, public, and profit sectors. From 2006 – 2011 I was employed part time as educational expert for the non profit organization in Rigpa e.V. in Berlin.
About Non-violent Communication (NVC):
Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is a clear and effective model for communicating in a way that is cooperative, conscious, and compassionate. As the name implies, this approach to communication emphasizes compassion as the motivation for action rather than fear, guilt, shame, blame, coercion, threat, or justification for punishment. In other words, it is about getting what you want for reasons you will not regret later.
These techniques allow you to make conscious choices about how you can respond regardless of whether or not you get what you want. It is not about guilt and tricking people into giving in. NVC guides us to reframe how we express ourselves and hear others by focusing our consciousness on what we are observing, feeling, needing, and requesting.
